22 April 2007 -
It was a wonderful day to run, temps in the
mid 60's.
CMJC was able to field 5 runners today for
the Annual Great Falls Ice Breaker Road
Race. All 5 team members finished in the top
half of their respective age groups in the 3
mile event. Congratulations to all of the
runners for an excellent showing in an early
season event. Our next outing will be a
Cycling event Sunday April 29th in Helena.
24 March 2007 -
CMJC had their first competitive outing of
the 2007 racing season. After a long winter
and very uncooperative spring training
weather, we were able to finally shake the
rust off with a nice 32 mile training ride.
We competed today with 4 riders in 4
different age groups, though all were racing
in a combined Junior Class. For the first
outing, all riders did a very good job. The
weather was great, what more could you ask
for.

Welcome aboard to our new Team Sponsor
We would like to take this opportunity to
thank Scheels Sporting Goods for becoming
our team title sponsor. Through their
generous donation we now have a complete
team uniform. We will be able to christen
the new uniform April 29th in Helena.
29 April 2007 -
Helena, MT - Montana Velo Road Race
Team CMJC/Scheels competed in our first
race of the year. We were able to field 4
riders, too bad Vince was sick, he missed a
good time. The race weather could not have
been better, need to remember the sunscreen
next time. This was the first time we have
had a chance to ride in a junior only Peloton.
Congratulations to Helena's Montana Velo for
a GREAT ride.
6 May 2007 -
Spokane, WA - Bloomsday 07 Road Race
Congratulations to Wyatt for competing in his
2nd Bloomsday 12K Road Race. This year
was the first chance to see how he stacked up
against the best in the NW United States and
Canada. Competitive standings are only
published for runners 13 & Over. He finished
the 7.46 miles in 58:52, which was good
enough for 17th place, and 1,931st overall of
39,382 finishing runners.
12 May 2007 -
Belt, MT - Belt Creek Omnium
Congratulations to all of our riders, they all
were able to place well in their age groups. It
was another great day for racing. A big atta
boy goes to JP. After finishing his Middle
school track meet he was on his bike within the
same hour, for his 30 mile road race, that's
dedication. Next up, Memorial Day weekend
in Hamilton.
2 June 2007 -
Helena, MT - Governor's Cup 07 Road Race
For a change of pace, James & Wyatt decided to forgo the
bikes for a weekend. Both bettered their own best times
in the 5K on the way to placing 88th & 90th respectively
out of 2377 runners. Not too shabby for an early morning
run. The next running event will be the Pengelly Double
Dip on June 16th.

This was the longest and hardest weekend of the
year so far. Team CMJC/Scheels competed in their
first 3 day Stage race of the year. Saturday started
with a 27 Mile Road Race, All finished the course
even though the directions were vague at best.
Sunday was a 30 minute FAST Criterium, something
we had not experienced before. Sunday was a final
7 mile Time Trial, and the weather didn't seem to
want to help. Good job to all participants.
16 June 2007 -
Missoula, MT - Pengelly Double Dip
Until now all of the running races have been on road
courses, today it was a mountain climb. This was the first
mountain trail race of the year for Edin, Wyatt and James.
The course consisted of a 1000 ft climb, with 14
switchbacks, and a down hill run to complete the 4.9
miles. James finished 2nd, and Wyatt 3rd in the 13-19 age
group. Edin finished 4th, (1st in the 12 & under group).
Good job boys

chance to see how we stack up against riders from
other areas. There were over 80 Junior Riders in
attendance from WA, ID, OR, MT, AK, CA and UT.
We took 2 riders for the 4 days of hot weather racing.
Thursday evening was the prologue TT, Friday was
the Road Race, Sat morning the hill climb TT, Sat
evening a circuit race and a final Criterium on
Sunday morning.

Junior B - (15 16, 5 Stages) - James 21st, 21st, 22nd, 22nd, 21st - (GENERAL CLASSIFICATION - 21st)
These results were very good for James, a first year rider. Of the 23 riders competing, 10 of the riders had
just returned from the US Junior Nationals. There was a noticeable competition level increase at this race.
Junior C - (13-14, 3 Stages) - Wyatt 7th, 9th, 10th - (GENERAL CLASSIFICATION - 10th)
As a second year rider Wyatt showed a marked improvement from last year. Of the 15 riders competing, 6
of the riders had just returned from the US Junior Nationals. After being involved in a 8 rider crash at the
front of the pack during the circuit race, Wyatt was able to fight through the pain to finish in 10th place.
18 August 2007-
Bozeman, MT - GVBC Time Trial
(STATE CHAMPIONSHIP)
As the racing season winds down for the year, and
fall sports take over, racing opportunities are very
limited. We were only able to field 4 riders for the
12K Time Trial.
Three more State Championships were earned by
team CMJC. Clayton, Wyatt & Tony all won their
age groups. Grey also place 2nd in his age group,
even though he missed the turn around and rode an
additional 3 miles, way to never give up Grey.
11 August 2007 -
Great Falls, MT - Harvest Thunder Triathlon
This was a new experience for CMJC riders, Wyatt & Tony.
They have run and cycled a number of races, the swim was
new. The swim times showed both could use some more
practice, but they more then made up for it on the bike and
the finishing run.
Tony won the 10-12 age group, even though they couldn't
seem to get the scoring computer to work. Wyatt also won
his 13-14 age group. Could see more of this type of racing
next year.
19 August 2007 -
Bozeman, MT - Valley West Criterium
Sunday morning rides should be a nice leisure ride, but today
it wasn't, it was a full hammer down Criterium.
Even though Clayton & Wyatt were in different age groups,
they raced each other hard to the finish, twice. Tony & Grey
also raced hard in their group.
8 September 2007-
Three Forks, MT - John Colter Memorial Run
The John Colter Run at the Missouri Headwater State Park commemorates
John Colter's famous trek across Montana. This is a cross country foot race,
which traces the steps of John Colter and his escape from the Blackfeet Tribe.
The 7 mile course is one of the hardest trail races in Montana. Wyatt finished
2nd place after a grueling 350 ft steep downhill run and a river crossing in the
final 1/2 mile of the contest. He was able to finish with a very respectable
1:02:35, which was also good enough for 62th place overall.
